Location: Fondazione Baruchello
The Fondazione Baruchello (Baruchello Foundation) was established by the artist Gianfranco Baruchello just outside the urban centre of Rome, in the very place where he had instituted one of the most radical and coherent experiments of his artistic practice: the Agricola Cornelia S.p.A. The Fondazione is only the most recent among the many projects that the artist has brought forward during the fifty years of his artistic life. It is, to this day, the space in which Baruchello works, makes projects and has set up his archive and library. The Baruchello Foundation holds and narrates within itself the body and expressive nature of the activity of one of the most important Italian artists of the twentieth century.
A protagonist of artistic research in the second half of the twentieth century, Gianfranco Baruchello has always considered art as a radical experiment. Through the use of various media and techniques, he practised painting, object/assemblage, writing, poetry, action. During his artistic career he founded fake companies, practised farming and zootechnics and made experimental films such as Il grado zero del paesaggio (1963) and La Verifica incerta (1964).
